For Helix At The District - UTILITIES INCLUDED
First of all, I would like to say that the previous name of The Helix was 750 Adams Place, I truly believe they changed the name in hopes of getting away from the reviews and hoped to “start fresh”. I was a resident here from May to December of 2018 and it was awful to say the least. ALL THIS PLACE CARES ABOUT IS MONEY, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Not to mention the other REASONS to not pick this place at all. They don’t care about you’re problems and if something goes wrong or gets damaged, they WILL try to blame it on you and FINE you. First thing you need to know is the roach problem, the ROACHES are everywhere and they can NOT get rid of them. They do have terminix come in and “spray” (I saw them do it a few times, its barely what I would call exterminating) but they only come every 2 months. During my stay from May to December of 2018, I had terminix come MAYBE three times AND i had maintenance try these cheap bug bombs and I STILL had roach problems. I set out my own roach traps, STILL had roach problems. I am telling you, if you live here you will be sick of the roaches. Another problem I experienced was the cooling in the summer. The way the buildings are set up is that each building had ONE chiller and ONE boiler that management controls when are on and off. Now, although this sounds okay, little do you know (until the maintenance guy tells you they have only been working at 50% capacity) that they hardly function enough to matter. During the summer my space would be anywhere between 80 and 90 degrees during the day WITH my windows blocking out the sun AND my two fans that were running with the thermostat set as cold as it would go. And at night it was no cooler than 75 degrees (with both of my fans still going).

This place is awful. The elevator goes down at least 5 times a week and blame it on the tenants. The door to the balcony does not open unless you pull/push as hard as you can. When I moved in, I was told they were putting new doors in, but it never happened. There are cockroaches, and it doesn’t matter how clean you are, they are still there. The stairway you have to use when the elevators are down are disgusting. Garbage, cobwebs and who knows what else is in there because they never clean them.

They have a really bad roach problem I’m a current resident and I don’t even invite people over because I scared they will see a roach . The elevators are always down so get used to walking up and down the steps , Nathan and Michelle are rude and they take FOREVER to fix stuff. The air goes out ALL throughout the summer , so I hope you like being hot and sweaty.WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED AT IN MY LIFE!!!!!

Take your money somewhere else! 1) They have roaches 2) They have used very cheap paint on the kitchen cabinets and doors so the paint chips off all the time; you will end up finding chips of paints on your dishes, floor, couch and everywhere 3) The apartment is extremely poorly built.. The floor leaks water, you cannot shut the door not even the bathroom door 4) You have no control on thermostat so you will be sweating a lot during summer or you can buy yourself a fan for each room! 5) We found some needle (IV injections) in the parking lot and there are some sketchy people living in the building that is weird. 6) You car can be towed from your parking lot! They have a contract with this towing company so they come and check everyday so if you have expired tag or anything else it will be towed from your own parking space

All these negative reviews crack me up! Here you have people complaining about the crappy condition MRG left this building in. All MTC is trying to do is revive the building with millions of dollars in upgrades. When an elevator is being COMPLETELY upgraded and replaced and it goes down sometimes during that process...it makes sense. People need to have some dang patience and let the techs work to get everything tested and stop complaining. When the elevators are complete...they will be functioning as they should. Gosh people are so annoying. I moved to The Helix after having an awful experience under MRG. I had a few things I was really searching for in my next apartment to include an upgraded laundry facility, secured parking, secured building entry, elevators to make that post grocery store trip smoother, balcony with a view, and more than anything I wanted to feel like my living experience was important to a management company. That's when I started searching for top-rated management companies...it didnt take long when i saw the name "Management That Cares". I was basically sold at that point and had called and left a message for further details and to set up a tour. Nathan, the Asst. Property Manager called me and I immediately felt his passion about the property. Nathan was so patient with me and showed me multiple units over the course of a month. They were undergoing quite a few upgrades to the building which had me SUPER excited to wait for the final result! They have brand new elevators that are being finished up currently, brand new washers and dryers, they had some bonus features too like a pool and NICE gym. I went from a studio apartment to a 2 bedroom and couldnt be happier with my choice! Michelle and Nathan in the office are great and the maintenance staff moves soooo much quicker than at my old place. Overall, I'm happy with my move....and even happier with my city skyline view and all the perfect sunsets I could ask for!
